Chicken Role Play!!!

Snow gazed at the wet new chick dreamily. "It looks like my rooster," she said, suddenly absolutely sure that Shadow was her mate. "Cloud, Flower, wake up! The first one has hatched!" Both pullets immediately jumped up and crowded around the chick.
"A little rooster!" Cloud cooed.
"I think I'll name it Coal," Snow said, gently drawing a wing over the newborn.
"Hi Coal," Flower peeped to the small black chick. "I'm your big sister."
Meanwhile, the second egg had begun to rock violently, and a small beak was pipping away furiously at the shell.

By the time the sun had set again, the second chick was out of its shell.
"Can I name this one?" Flower asked Snow.
"Alright, but I might not agree with your name choice," Snow clucked back.
A few moments later, the chick was dried and its color had showed.
"I think I'll name it Coffee," Flower peeped as the chick snuggled under Snow's wing with her brother Coal.

The third chick had hatched.
"It's another little pullet!" Flower peeped excitedly.
"Oo!" Cloud cheeped. "I get to name this one. Um... how about Toffee?"
"Sounds good," Snow clucked.
Soon enough, there were three cute fluffballs peeping out under Snow.

The last chick was a whole day late, and Snow had a feeling that this chick might have trouble pipping. She knew that she should just abandon the egg if it couldn't hatch, but... She could here the little chick struggling inside. She gently cracked a small peephole on the edge of the egg, and began a long night of assisting the little chick.
Just as the first ray of dawn shone into the bush Snow was under, the fourth chick finally stirred from its curled-up position, stood up, and peeped at Snow.
"She lived," Snow trilled with relief. "I'm naming you Miracle."
Just then, Cloud and Flower came to check up on Snow. "They're all hatched!" Flower peeped, excitedly.
"Come on, Snow, let's go show them off to the flock!" Cloud said.
Snow got up, and the four little chicks scrambled up and looked expectantly at Snow. "It would be nice to get something to eat and drink," Snow clucked.
"Are we going somewhere?" Coal peeped.
"Yes, we're going to introduce you to the flock, come on!" Cloud said, racing through the undergrowth.
