Hi all,
Came home tonight and found that one of my girls has roosted on the outside perch for the night. It's in a covered run and she basically has a fence (2 feet behind the run)and the side of the coop ( about 2 feet away) to keep any wind off of her. It's getting down to 39 degrees tonight and the wind will be 5 mph from the NW according to our local news website. I'm thinking she'll be fine but thought I'd see if anyone has any thoughts? The coop is less than a year old and I keep it pretty clean inside. I doubt she's out there because of mites or anything. She has three other hens that she usually roosts with. This is a first. I'm sure as the weather gets warmer they will roost outside, in fact I'm expecting it.
Thanks,
Sarita
