Chicken run cover help!

Hi there! I am in need of some creative ideas for covering this run area to protect it from hawks! I’m at a loss for the best way to hang bird netting given the size of these trees. I’m more concerned about it in winter when the leaves all fall off…I need to access the area daily, but I’d like to be able to let them out each day without supervision. Is this even possible?

My run has 2 different coverings tin roof and the other part a tree netting. I have had hawks land on my tin roof but they never bother the netting.

I’m just not sure how to apply the netting on such a huge bunch of trees! But it’s good to hear the netting has been effective. My silkies are so little!

I put a ldder up, tooknetting out unfolded it ,attached string to each corner, then attached rock to strings , climbed up ladder and throw the rocks. with long stick went under netting and adjested over the tree. Worked for me.

The way yours is I would place netting on wooden fence across to metal fence going around your bushes.

In my opinion it would be easier to break it down into sections then run a strand of wire on the edges of each section.Connect the netting to the wires.After you connect the netting to the wire attach the wire to the trees,fence posts and top of the fences,etc.I would save the areas directly underneath the trees for last because these areas will be the hardest but smallest.

I have good heavy duty netting covering my pens. I worked it around the trees. I did cut the netting and fastened it around the trunks. It was a job but I'm glad I did it. Now when I have to trim the trees I take the nets apart to trim the trees. Good luck...
