chicken run for the rows in garden - my idea w/ pics

Montcapu,

Your tractor looks nice. However, you do realize that it will not fit between the rows once those tomatoes and other plants take off, right?

Of course, when your plants have taken off, you will just be better served by letting the chickens out to free range for themselves. If they have a regular coop, they will automatically go back in there all by themselves at dusk. Then you just need to shut to door to the coop. Your chickens will be much happier, your garden will be happier for it, an it will be a lot easier on you, too.

I know at some poiint it will not fit, I am going to put the chicken wire on the inside of the wood so I can put rocks or a few bricks on the bottom of the wood to help keep anything out (haven;t had a problem but just a precation) so it will give it about 4 more inches on each side (the pic is at a bad angle there is about 6 or so inches on each side of the outside of the wood so about 10inches on each side should be good for awhile, and if it does not I am not worrying about free ranging them at all, my chickens have not even been a interested in my garden while free ranging at all but who knows when they see those sweet tomatoes growing... I will have to wait and see
thanks for the critique, I plan on using this for a possible outside brooder to when and if I get my new babies too, so once (and if ) it stops working in the garden, there will always be a place for someone it for a bit
