I recently brought a rooster into my flock of hens. In the mornings before I let them out I find a lot of loose feathers everywhere. Is this because the rooster is aggressively mating with a hen? Also one hen in particular looks kinda rough and acts very scared and stays away from the flock, which did not happen before. Could the rooster be favoring her to mate with? What should I do?

What type of rooster and how many hens does he have? what type of hens? Could be from him and if the one hen is rougher looking with red skin exposed she could be getting picked at/on by the others now. They could be molting as well(?)

Roosters don't do a lot mating inside the coop. Chickens can't see very well in the dark, and are pretty much on the roost until they are let out in the morning. Molting birds, on the other hand, can make it look like a pillow fight happened inside the coop overnight. It's normal for some hens to molt more feathers at a time than others.

Lol when I put my roo in my coop the head hen chased him off pulling his feathers which claim down after week or so and he picked his hen which wasn't the head hen which also caused couple issues but now everyone happy
