Last night I saw Chicken Run for the first time! What a hoot! I loved the subtle and not so subtle references to other movies and the characters personalities. I'm surprised there was no Sgt. Klink or other reference to Hogan's Heroes - maybe that was before the directors' time?

The Special Features showed what goes into the claymation and stop-animation filming - OMGoodness! 2.5 seconds of film a day is all they can do!! What talent these people have - amazing.

I could see this movie again as I'm sure there are things I didn't pick up on the first time.

They are prisoners--trapped behind barbed wire, fearing for their very lives and dreaming only of the outside world. Every escape attempt is thwarted, and the ringleader tossed into solitary to do hard time. But this is no ordinary prison... and these are no ordinary jailbirds. They're the inmates at Tweedy's Egg Farm, where any chicken who doesn't put breakfast on the table can wind up as dinner. But Ginger and her fellow flock are determined to break out before they meet a "fowl" fate. Time is running out as the greedy owner of the farm, Mrs. Tweedy finds a new way to feather her own nest--turning chickens into chicken pies. Now, with the help of Rocky, "The lone free ranger," the chickens hatch their most spectacular plan to fly the coop in "our story of poultry in motion." http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1800361193/details

This would make a great Christmas present for any BYC member! Them chickens are "organized"!

"oooohhh them thieving little buggers"

My daughter has it on dvd and we must have watched it 60 times....I could still sit and watch it now lol.

The reference above is our fave, everytime hubby opens the tool shed, the chickens go in "just to check things out", I am sure they are eyeing the tools

Yep, them chickens are upto summat lol.

Oh, I love that movie! My favorite part has to be when the RIR rooster plucks out his own tail feather and puts it in a drink -- "Cocktail!"
