Chicken run

Would a 10x10 chicken run be ok to use for 15-20 chickens ?
What kind of birds? Meaties or layers - large fowl or bantams? Will the birds be in the run at all times or will the run be used as needed with them primarily ranging on a larger area?

Generally speaking, you want 10 square feet of space for every bird when dealing with LF layers -- so a 10x10 is giving you 100 square feet and that would be the minimum size for 10 birds. For 15-20 birds giving them the bare minimum of space you would need to adjust your dimensions to give you 150-200 square feet of space in the run (and if you are going to have feeders, waterers, etc in the run you need to add appropriate square footage for those as well)

Are they confined or free range?

How big is your coop?

What is your climate like? You can put your location in your profile, helps folks give better advice.

They are going to be confined. The coop is also a 10x10. And i live in north ohio so we get alot of snow

I wouldn't confine more than 10 birds in a 10x10 run....they're gonna poop it up pretty quick unless you keep it cleaned up and it drains very well.

10x10 coop will be good for 10 birds in winter....will you be able to clear the snow from the run in winter, they usually don't much like walking on snow.
