chicken running and suddenly sits down

I have 4 RIR chickens, we just got our first 2 eggs this week, I was looking for my hens to check on them, when I called for them they came running to me and one of them just hit the ground half way across the horse lot and sat there for proably 30 seconds, she kind of layed over to one side a little bit, then just stood up and walked over to me, is this normal behavior, was it just an emergency dust bath she seems to be acting normal other wise.

She is probably just squatting, normal behavior for laying hens. She did this when she saw you and took you for a roo. Any roosters with your flock?

Sounds like she decided to stop and sunbathe for a minute then changed her mind.

I don't have any roosters, and if I tell my wife they she thought I was a rooster ill never here the end of it so lets keep that explination just between us.
