I have a 6 month old RIR. She always ran normally until today. Now shes "galloping". I did accidentally step on her toe today, but after that she still seemed fine. Then i went inside te house and 20 minutes later she emerged and ran towards me weirdly. Her feet look fine.. Ideas?

She just went in to lay an egg. She's normally the first one to lay for the day, but my other chicken laid first today because she skipped a day before. Could her weird running thing be because she needed to pass the egg before the nest box was vacant?

She laid and ran to me normally, but the second time she ran to me she "galloped". She still walks and jumps normally and she's perfectly healthy. Any ideas?... help..

Now she's running normally again

- but what could've caused her to gallop like that before? Anyone?

I don't think it's anything serious, and I wouldn't get too anxious over it. Chickens do some weird things sometimes but it seems like your hen pulled through. There's some behaviors that have no explanation. As long as she is walking normally, eating, drinking, etc. she'll be ok.

She's galloping again!!
She still walks and does everything else normally, though. I think it's just because i didn't let them free range yesterday, but idk.
