Chicken saddles 4 sale

eBay has a lot of feedback on those sold there under my username "magsrags" if you want to take a peek there. I know a number of them are on this forum as well. I have to see if I can look up usernames here for you to reference.

maggie made me one for my serama hen w/ the egg fabric it is adorable i love it, u will not be disapointed!! i got another one comeing from her too not here yet. i haven't had any probs with my serama roos mounting her when she is wearing it. they r made to protect their backs from getting ripped up from spurs and claws not to keep them from breeding. i would gladly recomend maggie and her saddles anytime.

Hi...here are mesurements. But I can also make to fit an odd size if you give me 3 measurements on your birds.:<)

Small 6 /12"L
Neck 2" wide.
shoulder/body width is:3 1/2"W

Med/lg:8 1/4" L by 6" W. neck 2"W

Large is 9 1/2" L by 8" W. neck 3"W.

Every measurement can easily be changed to suit your specific needs.
You can choose from 2 styles of bands. those just going around the wings....or....those looped to also go over the heads for added stability.Elastic sits snug but not tight at the top of the hen's chest.

Here are pictures on my 5 month old blue silkie who is just the right size hen.

I can accept postal money orders or paypal.

So.. I've never used a chicken saddle before.. do they wrap around the wing & the leg, or just the wing? What keeps the protective piece from slipping to the side during a breeding? Just curious!

Seems there are 2 basic ways of going about it.
1) Around the neck only.
2) triple kind of loop (which is how I make mine normally) which goes over the hen's head and then over the wings. Holds the saddle in place very well as shown above on my silkie.

Some people tell me the funniest stories of when the saddles go on their hens for the very first time. My silkies are models only and they simply ignore them like it's nothing.I put it on & they stroll away.......... Some hen's try rubbing them off on fences and walls. but they will get accustomed to it after a bit.:<)
