Chicken saddles?

Considering getting a chicken saddle for my roosters #1 lady. Shes a bit beat up (we had 2 roosters for awhile, and one was too aggressive with us and the hens, so he's gone now) and I was wondering if a saddle would help her back and wing feathers heal. Theres no getting rid of this rooster either. Hes a good boy, and does his job admirably. He just favors this hen above the others. (Shes also the only white one in the flock. He must be racist ).
So, chicken saddles. Effective or not worth the money?

Yes I would get one. She will continue to get “favored” . Get a saddle. A very good investment

I have never had roosters but I have lots of friends who do and have read a lot and what I know is that saddles are worth it

Great thanks! Ive had chickens for awhile but this is my first year with roosters, so until I started looking into it i had no idea a chicken saddle was even a thing

Yes, they work great. You can purchase, or make your own. The feathers probably won't come back until they molt. I end up inevitably using a few every spring when hormones are high.

Made a quick one out of denim scraps, she really really REALLY does not enjoy it.

They mostly do get used to them. That extra around the 'collar' probably bugs her, in her field of vision, and probably restricts her movement. Having the elastic around the wing/shoulder makes that part kind of disappear, and doesn't restrict movement. Here's one of mine, waiting for new elastic, I use sunbrella or equivalent fabric that I find on clearance.

Sewing isnt my strong suit. I could probably crochet one, but i doubt that would work
