That makes the need for protection for the girls seem even more important though, if the guys can be so rough....we need to keep at it, for the rest of the girls, dont you think?
You had such a good thought for your gal - and there may have been an underlying weakness in her system, personal to her, like a vitamin processing issue, liver issue, kidney issue, etc...that made her feathers weaker too...like how peoples skin have problems, couldnt that be possible?
RIP little one

True, but all of my remaining birds are just pullets & are away from the older roos. The culprit is either going to a new home or into the freezer, this weekend. While I appreciate an aggressive breeding roo, he is just a little too eager & aggressive!

My rhode island on page 4 is wearing a saddle as her feathers are worn due to the rooster being "rough" and breaking the feathers off at her tail.
Same pattern used, large sized, buttons. purpose is to protect the hens back.

They have really nice stuff! That saves the trouble of making it yourself if you dont have the time or whatever! I like to make my own for fun sometimes, but I love the link, what a great place to get gifts, way better than the box stores, and they take PAYPAL! Thank you!

Your welcome. The different designs are so cute, I'm getting one for my silkie. They can be used as harnesses also if you order them with grommets/attached ring.
