Hello,

does anyone know where I can get a pattern for chicken saddles or get them for a good price? some of my hens have been plucked bald and are almost bald back by there tails. also do they make such a thing as a chicken bonnet or cap> my poor beautiful black giant Cochin she is the roos fav and she is bald and her back looks so sore, I want to put lotion on her to help her but I think I just need a good soft saddle so she can get some feathers back.

When my three EEs were the same way, bald by their tail, I got a lotion called "Rooster Booster" at a local farm store and put it on them. The pecking stopped by the next day. As for her bald head, I would just put the lotion (mensioned above) on her. I had a hen that was bald up there too, and I made a hat for her. Within 10 seconds, she scratched it off with her foot, and it was on there snug, but comfortably.
