Chicken Safety Warning

I have been thinking of ordering some myself.

My poor Fussy is so scared of my feet now, I stepped on her but good one time when she was younger and she STILL remembers it and shys away. She is ok when outside, but in the house (where it happened) she is flighty around my feet if I am walking. Poor baby, must have hurt a lot to remember it months later.
I think if you have them in the house, you have to remember to be even more careful (have read of silkies drowning when toilet lid's open, etc.) Lily is always wanting to jump up on the cabinets and thats a no-no, she always wants to do it when we are cooking to see what we are doing up there. I dont let her out when we are cooking, but she "escapes" cuz she thinks she is a people and she wants to "help". No way can I convince her otherwise. sigh..

Mine are constantly following me around waiting for food. On a few occasions they have dang near triped me running between my feet. Yesterday I was working in the coop, and as I exited the run door, one was on my heals making a break for it. I was not aware of this though, until I heard her screaching. I looked down and my foot was on her wing tip. She was ok though and ran off.

Priscilla was pretty well-behaved in the house. She didn't jump up on the counters, so it wasn't a problem having her in the kitchen while I cooked. I worried about stepping on her toes, so I adopted a sliding feet walk if I knew she was in the kitchen. It didn't take long for her to know what, "Move over, Priscilla" meant.

Its amazing the words they can learn. My big girls know the living room is off limits. I was so proud of them, the other day when letting them in for the night, I was also carrying in a big package that was out on the porch from UPS. It scared Red a little and she started into the living room, then remembered where she was and skedaddled out, REAL quick like! They know not to step off the curb when out in the yard. They know "HEY!" means quit whatever your doing right now. They also know "bedtime" means time to go in and get in your box.
They know the words "crickets" and "grapes" and "outside". The little ones know their names, I think the big ones do but they dont always act like they do, when I call them.

And Lily is a youngster yet, and a bit of a disaster. I think she has a bit of intelligence so she will learn, but boy she is a brat. She is taking much longer to learn to stay OUT of the living room. Actually I think Dash may be learning that, cuz Lily walked in there today, and Dash stood there in the hall, hopped on a box and proceeded to watch the show. lol She had this look like "oh your gonna be in truuuuuuuble".
