Have you ever made her upset before? Like giving her medications, trying to pet her, ect.? Some chickens are natrually really sensitive. Is she in stress? Prolonged heat can cause it.She does that sometimes and bites me if I try to touch her when Shes NOT broody.
I never gave her medications I just carried her and she does this weird squat in the air when I pick her up and then screamsHave you ever made her upset before? Because they feel safe on my lap, they often move up the pecking order for some reason.Early at feeding time in the morning,
I regularly put problem hens on my lap and keep a 5 gallon bucket lid with a handful of our special feedstocks mix in front of them.
I keep a hand in front of their chest to prevent escape.
as they pick out their favorite foods, I pet their back and talk chicken.
it is amazing how docile they become.
they revert back if I don’t continue our therapy together!
