Chicken screams when I touch them

Have you ever made her upset before? Like giving her medications, trying to pet her, ect.? Some chickens are natrually really sensitive. Is she in stress? Prolonged heat can cause it.
I never gave her medications I just carried her and she does this weird squat in the air when I pick her up and then screams

Early at feeding time in the morning,

I regularly put problem hens on my lap and keep a 5 gallon bucket lid with a handful of our special feedstocks mix in front of them.

I keep a hand in front of their chest to prevent escape.

as they pick out their favorite foods, I pet their back and talk chicken.

it is amazing how docile they become.

they revert back if I don’t continue our therapy together!
Because they feel safe on my lap, they often move up the pecking order for some reason.

no violence is permitted by other chickens while they are on my lap

no other chickens are allowed access to the special treat food.

they are blocked and kept away just by putting my hand out.

for release, I hold the wings tucked securely and put their feet on the ground before releasing them

they need to know you are in control and not let them escape.

Escaping can develop a bad habit with them trying to escape as soon as you pick them up or when they jump on your lap.
