Chicken seems to be sneezing

She is an 9 yo Buff Orpington and has been sneezing for about 1 and 1/2 months.She started about the time my rooster died and I introduced some new pullets.I have considered that it might have been a disease that she got from these other chickens but my rooster seemed to have had a stroke and all my other hens are fine.She shakes her head when she sneezes and her comb is oddly colored.Please help!!

Can you post photos of your hen and her comb?

How often does she sneeze?

Do you notice mucous, facial swelling, bubbles in the eyes or other respiratory symptoms?

Is her crop emptying overnight?

When was her last egg, does she have any bloat or feeling of fluid in the abdomen?

She may have picked up something from the newbies, hard to know. If this has been going on for a 1 1/2 months and she's eating/drinking/relatively active, it may be a virus that has to run its course.

I’ll try to post a photo and/or video soon.She sneezes almost every 10-20 seconds.Nothing else seems wrong with her.Idk if she’s laying since I have other hens and she’s very old but I don’t think she is laying.

She is actually also gaping,shaking her head,and constantly making a whimpering noise.

Her beak is overgrown, is she able to eat and drink o.k.?

Look her over for lice/mites.

Does she only make the whimpering noise when you pick her up and hold her?

I'd work on hydration, then offer her some wet soupy feed. Slowly work on trimming her beak so she can better manage her food.

With her age, she may be starting to naturally decline and may not have many days left.

I don’t have YouTube.She’s able to eat ok so I assume she’s drinking fine.I’ll check her for bugs later.I picked her up yesterday and she just kept gaping.How do you trim their beaks?My brother has a Dremel. Thanks for all the help!!

No, I would not use a Dremel on the beak. The beak has a blood supply and nerves. You can carefully and slowly over time, trim just a little, then file and shape the beak. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/beak-and-claw-trimming.74570/

IF she gapes a lot when you pick her up, then don't do that very often. Likely it's the pressure of being held. When you examine or treat her, I understand you need to pick her up, that's o.k. but set her on a table or something so she can stand up while you are tending to her.
