Unfortunately, my 1 year old pekin bantam has been having issues. Every time she drinks water her head retracts into her body and will continue to look up for minutes on end. Would be great if someone could help :)

Does she only do this when she drinks?

Does she hold her head any differently, even slightly, at other times? I'm wondering about a vitamin deficiency.

What feed is she on?

If it is a vitamin deficiency try a Vitamin E pill and B complex for a few weeks.

she will also do this when sleeping, eating and walking. she can shake rapidly at times, but it is rare. she only looks up when this happens. she is on Prosper chicken layer crumbles that we buy at Theisen’s.

forgot to say this, she gets bullied a lot by my sussex hens and they usually go for her head.

I would place her inside a wire dog crate with food and water to protect her, but keep her with the flock. I also would try some vitamin E 400 IU, a 1/4 of a crushed human B complex tablet, and a little soft cooked egg along with her usual feed daily. Those may help if she is suffering from neurological symptoms.

Forgot to mention (again) she can barely drink. She will peck near the drinker to try to get water but most of the time she misses the drinker.
