I have a 10 month old RIR who I think is sick. My kids said she was moving rather slowly yesterday, and they had just tossed some apples into the run for all 12 of them and the rest went into a frenzy (they LOVE apples) and she just kinda pecked at one but didn't act interested. I thought maybe she was full so no biggie. But today there was scratch spilled in the non-chicken part of my shed and the rest went nuts when we opened the door so they could clean it up, and she didn't even bother. Just stood on top of the feed bin.

I picked her up and it seems like she has a bulge, for lack of a better word, under the lower abdomen close to her legs, and her tail feathers are pointing straight down to the ground. After she flapped a little to get out of my arms, she just hopped up onto the lower roost bar and laid down as if to roost-again, not paying attention at ALL to scratch, which is extremely out of character for all my birds. (edit-my daughter just came in and said she got off roost bar and was laying underneath it). She also had a little white watery poop that seemed a bit cloudy, and I thought her crop looked like it was fuller-but maybe it was her posture?

Please help! First flock first ill chicken and don't want to lose her!

It looks to me she might be egg bound. I would read up on it I’m not too sure how to treat it but she is showing all the signs for being egg bound.

I didn't feel an egg when I examined her internally. We tried the epsom salt bath and she only stood in it, refused to lie down, for about five minutes. I massaged the vent with oil so what else can I do?

Note- she's not trying to squat and her feathers aren't pumping much.
