chicken sickness

I took her to the vet and they said she had a tumor. It was probably cancer, and she would die in a couple of days. The vet said she would be in a lot of pain if we let her die at home, so i decided to have her put to sleep. I held her as they gave her the shot and she died in my arms...that's one of the hardest things to experience. Thanks for all of your help.

But you did the right thing, and i'm sure she was comforted having you there holding her at the end. i have had several chickens die of different kinds of cancer. i thought i read somewhere that chickens develop more different kinds of cancer than any other animal. Anyhow, that information doesn't make it any easier when you lose a beloved pet. So sorry again for your loss.

sorry to hear about your loss, I lost 2 of my girls in 2 weeks from Marek's so painful to watch, I couldn't let either suffer longer than necessary to make sure they wouldn't pull through on their own. You did the right thing but I know that doesn't make it any easier.

thank you all so much for your kindness...
im sorry for your chicken loses as well, its very hard to have them leave you.

Hey,

I have a growing up rooster who is very sick, but I have no idea what the sickness is.
One day when I went to give my flock food, I just found him their sitting on his "tail", like a human. It looked like he was about to lay an egg, but I'm 100% sure it's a rooster.
And 2 days later, he was just laying their and his legs in the back. His legs are like paralyzed, they cant move and when he wants to move he just simply does it with his wings.
He has extreme pain and just stays in one place, unless we put him by the food and water. I realized hes always thirsty.
I have no idea what to do, please reply!

Any advice...?
