Chicken sounds like a seagull - possible airway issue??

One of my almost-six-month old Silkie hens recently started making a new noise that has me a bit concerned.

Instead of the standard clucking, she makes a trill like a seagull. But not a happy, contented trill, definitely a distinctive seagull trill. Is this normal? Is it possible she's got an obstruction in her airway? She doesn't wheeze, sneeze or cough. Eats and drinks fine, scratches and shuffles about, but just makes this bizarre sound that makes her sound quite unhappy all the time!

Has she started to lay yet? It sounds like she may be ramping up to conduct business in a nest box.

She has been laying for about four weeks now, and I think I've worked out that she's probably broody - I stumbled across a video of another Silkie making the same noise, and that hen was broody! Thank you for you reply!
