Well, we "used" to have an old 1/2 wine barrel for growing pumpkins...not much was happening there. It was in the orchard where the hens roam. Yesterday, one of them "discovered" it, and turned it into their personal dust bath spa. Little Alice, the runt Barred Rock, was the first to roll around in the dirt (peat moss, soil, no fertilizer to speak of), while the others waited their turn standing on the edge of the barrel. And had lunch of the few remaining plants in there, which weren't doing much, anyway. So, I moved the barrel closer to our fence so our neighbor could enjoy "chicken television". She and her dog enjoy watching them in the morning. Free cable...
