I have one white leghorn that will not run from me and just crouch down on the ground like its scared anytime i walk over it. anyone seen this before? it squats down and has its wings about an inch above its back?

My female hens do that sometimes, It looks like they are in a position for a male to start mating with it!

Awww! She's acknowledging your dominance and giving you the "signal."

One of my girls also stomps her feet really fast, as if to say, "Hurry up, already!" Soon and very soon, you are going to see the eggs...!

It is how a hen responds to the rooster. She thinks you are the big boss come to get "friendly". Just give her a pat and walk on.

She is giving you the signal for mating. I have a black sex link that comes running everytime I go out and will not leave me alone til I "pet" her

Oh man, so that's what my hens are doing?

I was worried it was some kind of fearful reaction. Don't know whether to be flattered or not.

My 4 layers do that all the time, I just scratch their backs and they are fine. Mine follow me all over the run and coop. I just figured it was natural to do after they started laying.
