Chicken stealing cat food from neighbor's house

I've been letting the chickens free-range there's only three of them..
They always seem to stay near but they discovered neighbor feeding cat outside now they going to steal the cat food.. off the top of my neighbor's picnic table and leaving a mess..
I was thinking you putting up a nylon mesh barrier between the properties or will they just fly over it

You are responsible for keeping your birds at home, whatever it takes. A covered run, lot line fencing, clipping wing feathers, whatever.
Having cat food outside invites all sorts of chicken killing predators, who will love your birds. Maybe you can convince the neighbor to feed her cat meals, and never have food out there. Better for everyone!

You can try the mesh, most chickens won't hop anything they can't perch on top of so it is totally worth trying. One side of my yard is orange saftey fence and nobody has hopped it they haven't even tried.
