chicken stock in north/central California anyone?

The California Chickens group met at the Show in Stockton this year. Quite a few of them are also BYC members, so it was cool! Someone made little pins to put on our shirt, I believe it was Naomi. I still have mine, they were really cool. I will try to talk my parents into taking me, I really want to go again.

Found this on the internet:

2007/2008 California Poultry Shows

Central Coast Feather Fanciers – Paso Robles – October 13-14, 2007

Seaside Feather Fanciers – Ventura – October 27-28, 2007

Golden Gate Bantam Club and Bakersfield Fancy Feathers Club (Double Show) – Bakersfield – November 10-11

Pacific Coast Bantam Club and Inland Empire Poultry Club Joint Double Show – Victorville – December 1-2

Gold Coast Poultry Fanciers - Hollister – January 5-6

Pacific Poultry Breeders Association - Stockton – January 12-13

Humboldt Poultry Fanciers Winter Show – Eureka – February 10-11

2008 Greater California Show – Fresno – February 23

I wonder if the Gold Coast Poultry Fanciers show in Hollister or the PPBA show in Stockton would be the best to go to?

I'm definitely going to the one in Fresno, since that's right at my back door.

What do you guys think?

I know there's a lot of people planning to go to the Stockton show in January. That's considered the "big one" as far as the shows are concerned, and there will be a lot of birds there.

I wish I had my house built already; I'd put people up that were from way out of town like you guys (I only live like 20 minutes away from Stockton). Right now, I live in an 850 sq. ft. house with one bedroom.

That's right! I keep forgetting you can buy chickens at these things.

And it's kinda nice to have something to look forward to after the Christmas season!

I'm going to try to talk my husband into just giving me some money for Christmas so I can buy chickens at the show. I am positive that he won't be thrilled with the idea, but maybe if I start now???. . . . .
