OK Chickens

I have a small free range flock of 6 chickens and 2 ducks, the 1st one of chickens went broody in the duck house as this is the popular laying area, i read up and it said to keep removing her so she stopped sitting on the eggs, which i did, and after a week she stopped sitting on the eggs. However i thought she wasnt laying again since, but i have found her in an overgrown area of the garden where she has made a nest and is laying eggs
how can i stop her doing this as my basset hound (who is a known egg theif) keeps eating them if not found in time! Thanks in advance
