Chicken stopped laying

I have 2 chickens in a run that we let out every day. They are about 2 1\2 years old. The Barred Rock has stopped laying. Haven't had an egg in about 6-7 months now. Any suggestions? How old is considered old in a chicken?

It's not unusual for a hen to take a break in the laying cycle, but 6-7 months is not a good sign. Some birds lay far longer than 2.5 years, but she may be done.
