Yeah, lol. It was probably like: 'I can't open this darn egg! Maybe I'll just bring it back...'

One if my chicken stories: I hatched out a bunch of little bantam chicks and gave away all but 7 of them. We kept them in the house until they were big enough to go in the coop. They cried all the time unless I was there, which meant I had to sleep on the floor next to them. I named them Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The only two things that would calm them down was me or a white towel. Sunday and Saturday were the smallest and they ended up being roosters. All were silver duckwing mix but one Wednesday was a BB red mix. Here is a pic.

This little hen,Brownie, set and had babies in our house.

This is what she was in when she set.

We had a batch of Old English in a brooder at that time. We sectioned a part off for her and the babies. She would calm all of the babies down by humming really low. It worked every time. It was awesome. She did it for the rooster, Peep, too. He had a problem backing up into a corner when he first got hurt. We put her in there with him and she helped him a lot. Humming and snuggling with him. She didn't use the roost because he couldn't. She slept right beside him. They actually fell in love with each other I think. He died of a heart attack I think because of the injury, but Brownie was having a really difficult time with an egg and it looked like she wasn't going to make it. Brownie was having egg problems cause she was covered by a big cochin and she is a B.B. Red. She was barely old enough too, so he kind of broke her. You could hear her popping and cracking. That was why we brought her inside in the first place. I couldn't really worry about Peep at that moment after I found him. Brownie was so weak. I held her in an old sheet and she was pushing so hard. I would put my hand under her so she could push against me. Finally the yolk came out and I had to pull the shell out. It was really soft. She laid really big eggs for her size. Poor baby. This was what she looked like after.
