it was my impression that we were dropping the nh and calling it market fair/chicken swap.
and i feel, and i may be wrong here, but since i was the one that started the whole thing with cheryl that maybe i could have a say!!??

This is really going to drive me nuts! I'm a "fixer" look me up in a horoscope book, April 11, and it will tell you I have the need to mediate and solve conflict. It's a problem I have. Conflict stresses me out even when it has nothing to do with me.

OK, now you guys have me a bit confused, what is the difference between "chicken swap and market fair" and "market fair/chicken swap" aside from the order of which goes first? Someone explain to me the distinction? Maybe we can get a healthy debate going? If both of you could explain why you think the name should look one way or the other, maybe the rest of us can understand.

I really enjoy these swaps and as I told someone earlier, I don't want to see these swaps go down because of politics and in fighting instead of lack of interest.

If you don't understand why something is being done one way or another, ask a question, like I did about October being the stopping month. I asked the question, it was answered and everyone can move forward now because we know why October was planned as the stopping time and we can talk about keeping them going based on the interests of everyone.

When you ask a question ask it without adding barbs or accusing anyone. Let the question stand on it's own and I'm sure that qualified people can answer it. And before we argue about who is qualified to answer a question, I'm saying anyone who knows the answer is qualified!

Tony, when I got on the swap train there were far less of them and always at the same places. More stores started wanting to hold swaps and soon there weren't enough days to accommodate them only doing one a week. More stores meant doing both weekend days. The benefit is that the swaps are all over the place now so people in any part of the state have a chance to go to a swap near them. I'm not sure how anyone would have the stamina to go to every single one. I think you just have to pick and choose which ones to go to according to your location and how much time you want to spend on the road. I think in a perfect world lots of us would love to go to every single swap. There's too many stores and not enough days, especially when many stores want to do one every month.

This thread has a nasty undertone to it. I am locking it - to continue your discussions please start a new thread, and keep the toxic undertones out of it. Plan your swaps without slamming each other, overtly or underhandedly.

I am editing this to let you all know that no one asked me to lock this - it was my own decision after reading the various unpleasant posts within it. I don't understand why some are so bent on making what should be a happy process so unpleasant.
