We LOVE our little SF pullet from you.

We got home around 2:30 b/c we stopped to pick up some things on the way home. Poor little girl was so hungry---i had given her water, but didn't have feed with me. After feeding her, i put her in with our not-quite-2-wk-olds, and they just loved her too! Soon they were snuggled right up to her!

I guess cuz she's a little bigger, maybe they think she's a mommy hen? I think she is still too little to go out in the coop with the big girls, i mean she is much smaller than my older pullets. I'm glad she's happy with the babies.

i wanted to thank the lady i got the EE pullet from (little Sammie). she's settling in very well with the other 4-6week olds i have. though i had to set up a divider in the coop just so the cochin hen wouldn't peck at them. (i moved 5 others out there for their first night inside my coop)

unfortunately i came home to a neighbor who didn't like the 5am crowing of the new cochin rooster i got at the Rochester swap. i'm afraid i may have to find a better home for him. maybe i'm just so tired that i never heard him crowing all week at that time, but they sure did! everytime i heard him open his beak and make a sound it was a long squak and not a crow so i didn't think he was going to be loud enough to be disturbing to them.

Glad to hear they all made the trip fine. The kids had a blast. They loved listening to the quail on the way up, and now they want some too. Your DH was funny - "there's MORE quail?"

There sure were a lot of Pekin eggs too!

Maybe we'll see you in Windsor tomorrow, though I know you'll be busy.
