Thx nhnanna...hopefully this won't be duplicate post...other lost in cyberspace?
You definitely have some breeds I'd be interested in looking at particularly the bantam EEs. I'm assuming those are unsexed. How old does a bantam have to be to tell? I'd love a little partridge silkie but husband is adamant about no Roos. My son and I would love a rooster they are so pretty. Are these old enough to be in coop without heat lamp? Does the Merrimack swap draw more volume than Candia? Merrimack bout 50 min drive vs 30min for Candia. Would I have better selection on first weekend day than second plus the weather is suppose to be nicer!
See ya soon...

There will be a better choice on Saturday only because it comes first. I do have plenty of them though. I think last count was 29 Bantam EE's. I am not sure how old before you can tell if they are males or females but we bought them as straight run, I guess the Bantams are harder to sex so they only sell them as straight run. I know if they are anything like the Silkies you won't know until they either lay an egg or crow. There is atleast one swap every weekend so I just tell everyone if you end up with a rooster, bring it to one of the swaps or put it on Craigslist.
They are still a little young to put out in the coop unless you put a heat lamp with them. I have them in the house still but with no heat lamp.

Love the comment about the eggs or the crowing for sexing. Too cute.
Do you have many Partridge silkies?

Will anyone have any Barred rock pullets either day?

I only have two left that are pet quality Partridge Silkies. I have quite a few white ones.
I have a few Barred Cochins but not any Barred Rocks. We do have Golden Comets and Amberlinks that were hatchery sexed as pullets. They will lay huge brown eggs. The Comets are known for double yolkers.

The barred Cochins must be so cute. How old are they and how many of those do you have? I will have to try to make it tomorrow to see your chickens. But yet again it will be the whole unknown sex thing. There's no best quess just from looking at them with all your experience, huh. I probably won't make it right at the start as I have a couple young children to tend in the AM. I will seek you out when I get there. I did look at the amberlinks and comets online. The amberlinks are kind of pretty.

It would only be a guess. Sometimes you can tell from the combs, but cochins are hard to judge. I have had some that I swear were hens and they turned into roos and vice versa.
They are about 5-6 wks old now. I am thinking there are three and atleast one is a frizzle.
I look forward to meeting you, please let me know who you are so I can put a face to the name on here. We will be driving a white Dodge van.
Hopefully the rain holds off but we have a tent so even if it rains the birds will stay dry.
