Yes, I saw that after I wrote it but maybe she knows someone who does the bantams so I left it there.

today was a great swap. thankyou to everyone who bought chicks and bunnies. Alicia did great giving me a hand talking to a couple of people while I was busy. Thanks for the help. hey, alot of the showgirls that hatched today are white partridge. Tonight I put the partridge showgirl in with my showgirl roo. she is the relative of the ones you had.

So anyway, I came home with a new bunny

Yep just when I got my flock down to a reasonable number too lol

She didnt tell me she was going to the swap nevermind bring me anything home

Not to mention that I was pouting about not having time to get to the swap today and when I went to the grain store up here they happened to have EXTRA CHICKS! So I bought myself 4 Silver Laced Wyandote girls and 4 Ameracauna girls

I also have 8 Japanese bantam 3 day olds under the broody and 2 guinea keets that were born 3 days ago in the brooder. My 2nd momma sitting on 5 eggs....3 are pipped and an incubator full of Japanese Bantams and Barred Rock/Cochins due in 2 weeks.

So I can come and sell some babies in July

I can't wait! I think i'll hold out for Chichester on July 23rd tho.

Does the must buy 12 if under 4 weeks old rule apply to guinea keets?

Oh you still have some left..... You know, idk if our silkie eggs are developing so the fact that you have chickies already sitting there, waiting to be taken home is really quite tempting..... But I can't!
That's great! Are they giving him a hard time at all? He needs a little excitement in his life so if they are, good for him!

I hope you have great luck with your eggs. I came home to a FANTASTIC hatch. just finished taking them out of the bator. 33 out of 44 so far. a few more are pipped. the first one hatched thursday night so I really had to get them out. there are plenty of silkies and showgirls. I have 20 to 25 silkie hens so I hatch alot of silkies when they are not sitting on eggs. most of them stay at my house till they get really pretty and fluffy. it's like having a whole bunch of feather dusters running around.

the quail are getting along just fine now. he is less agressive than my last male. one of the girls bosses him around. I think he has figured out that she is in charge. sort of like he figured out how to say "yes dear, whatever you want dear".

Soooo, I'm weak and can't keep my fingers out of the bator

but ALL our 7 minorca's are developing at a great pace! And it's AMAZING to see them actually move! It's the closest I'll get to motherhood for a VERY long time! xD 2 of 4 silkie eggs are developing, and a few blrw, but I'm not sure on the number cuz I didn't touch those tonight. Just the one's Shay gave me. Quite a few of those look good! maybe 3 that might be infertile? Next time I might have to get a butt load of silkie eggs from you
tongue.png
What comforts my mother and father with all this hatching is that I keep telling them chicks are darn easy to sell! Not that I won't keep a ton
tongue.png

Yeah we had two males before and I always liked that little guy better
tongue.png
. And you're right! That's totally his attitude! "Yes dear!"

Thank you, it figures. I may have to move on to another breed. I was just trying to pick one that I already have so I can keep one of the boys that I hatch.

soooo...... what color are your japanese?

I have a black tailed white roo and a frizzled black tailed white hen.

yes the 12 rule does apply to keets. you can combine keets and chicks to get to 12. pretty much all of us just raise them till they are 4 weeks old so we can sell small amounts and not have to worry about brooder lights.
