what a nice day today turned out to be. I loaded in the rain this morning. as soon as we got north of concord the weather cleared up.
I think I was the only person with hatchery sexed pullets today. my pullets were all sold by 10am and I probably could have sold many more. we had a constant stream of customers all day. I just kept stacking up the empty cages to the left of my display. I decided to bring my lavander silkie hen and I sold her

for the rest of the season I will be bringing some adults to each swap. it is so hard to let them go. I have been raising the new flock since feb and they are at the point of lay so it is time to say goodbye to some of my little darlins. I have chosen some new breeds and colors for next season. I need to make room in the coop for the new kids.

Is anyone out there looking for netherland dwarfs? I have a couple of tiny little monkeys who are almost ready to go. the smaller of the two is the length of my hand right now. I have a black and a black otter. the dad is a two and a half pound blue eyed white.

hi all,

fall is just around the corner. I can't believe how fast the summer went by. we will be changing from frozen water bottles to power inverters to keep the chicks warm before we know it.
just a reminder for anyone who plans to sell chicks under 4 weeks old this fall. you will need to have brooder lights on the chicks at the swap. I am reminding everyone in advance just in case you need to put aside a little money each week to be able to purchase the items necessary to keep your babies warm and cozy at the fall swaps. We are hoping for a great fall and have swaps scheduled until november.
if anyone has any pointers about keeping animals and vendors warm, please share them. I hate being cold. cold wet feet are the worst.
