wow, didn't mean to upset anyone. The "story" I heard was that he was going to pot if he didn't get a home. That he was someone elses who couldn't keep him & had been staying outside because he couldn't be kept with the hens. I know people eat roos all the time so I had no reason to doubt what I was old. My hubby heard the same story & he is the one who named him Lucky. In any case, he is wonderful & my dominant hen (Scout) has fallen for him. She has never taken so quickly to any of my other chickens & never cared much for our last rooster. I am happy to have him. Thank you.

That is not even near what I told you (you took him from me)

I told you he was FREE to a good home as long as you weren't going to eat him and then stated if were going to eat him not tell tell me. You then asked if the 2 roos were ok together and I told you yes they were since they have been together all there life. Jen (the other girl who was there with me) then told you why him and his friend wernt with the hens (due to the fact that she only had 3 hens) and 3 hens with 2 big boys can cause problems.

Yes its upsetting when people come on ranting about stuff that is far from what was said.

If you feel the need to talk anymore about it feel free to PM me and I can send you my phone number so we can chat.

must be a different bird.... & I am not ranting. What I said I was told is what I was told. I have better things to do then make up stories about how I obtained a Rooster. I was just stating that it is a nice bird & I like him. That I was happy to give him a nice safe home. If you gave away a rooster with a different back ground then I didn't get it from you. Really not a big deal.

Good job on the roos this weekend girls & guys.

How old R the Roo's ?? I have 3 right now. 1 ~1 1/2 yr old silkie & his son that was born in April & a seabright that is just over 1 yr old. I am looking into getting a couple of Welsummer pullets/ hens in the spring..Think he'd ( welsummer roo) mix in with my flock ??

They were all hatched here in March & April. He is "Different" because he sustained an injury from his coop mates when he was young and his tail is "bent" to the side. Due to this he is not a "dominant" rooster. He does do his job with the girls still though.

I was wondering how he would mix in with my 3 roos. They R all real good boys, they know their place within the group. I just wouldn't want them to get picked on or He ( or another ) 2 get picked on. My guys R all bantams. I have a small area that I have a couple of newB girls in.. with`in the big chicken area, once all get used 2 seeing each other, I'll take the small fence down. I don't care if a chick has a crooked tail or head. Where R U located ? I am in Pike, NH ~ grafton county & planning on being at the swap in Littleton TS on the 31st
