CHICKEN SWAPS OF NH SWAP LISTINGS

So I went to the swap yesterday to look for a rabbit. There were some really nice ones there but not what I was looking for.
Thought it might be nice to share my opinions.
There were not a lot of people selling but what was there looked so healthy. None of the cages were over crowded, all animals looked well cared for. I saw bright eyes, no birds with naked picked backs with an excuse that they were slow to feather, no cages full of fighting young roosters that a person was trying to call hens. In all it was like a breath of fresh air. The sellers were very helpful and answered questions about safety and care. I was very pleased with all I saw.
Now the only suggestion I have for anyone who wants to go to a swap is get there at the beginning. I started at one end, saw things I wanted but thought I would look around first. By the time I decided what I wanted the animals were gone.
I will be going to more swaps. Well done.

I plan on coming Sunday to sell for the first time and I was reading the rules and it stated I needed to bring an easyup I don't have one would shade cloth work or is this something I should invest in? I am wondering what people use for cages. I have large dog carriers and a show type cage would these work? Thanks for any advise you may have for this first timer.

can you please explain shade cloth? We all have easy ups. we are very concerned that the animals do not overheat or get drenched if it rains. Dog carriers can be used but the animals can not be seen very well in them. also, on an extremely hot day there is not much ventilation with a plastic carrier. In the summer I try to get the best airflow possible. on a cool day plastic helps keep the babies warm. hope this helps.
