Illinois...

Hello guys and gals! I am having a hard time finding a buff orpington cockerel. Anyone know how I can find one locally or any leads? I have tried on the IL rehoming thread and Facebook marketplace also with no results. I live in Chicago but I wouldn't mind traveling given it isn't too far out. Getting desperate here. He would be joining a gang of buff orpingtons that are about 11 months old now and I would like to keep the breed pure.

FB doesn't allow animal sales
People have to be creative and usually post in a private group so they don't get reported.

The "feed store " in summit takes roosters and resells.

Also these FB groups might be a resource.

@Molpet and I had a nice “girl’s day” yesterday. The weather cooperated and we processed turkeys together. It’s definitely easier to do with a friend. 93ACB747-878C-48A9-A2F7-6AD5707A60F9.jpeg E0419E44-F2F1-4A29-BC7E-0F14E8C98255.jpeg

It was a good day for it. Easier with a friend. .... with a plucker 😂

Double Trouble, my Sebright, is having a hard molt at the worst time. I had to bring her inside a few days ago. No head feathers, no tail, and her stomach is all pins. Poor girl.
