I am glad that you do post the swaps on craigslist because that is how I learned aboutt hem in the first place. I can't believe someone doesn't have better things to do then flag a chicken swap.... geeze get a life! I wish it had been less windy on Saturday so that more people had showed. I was looking for 4 pullets & left with only 1 Cochin & at the last minute a free rooster. He was going to go to the pot if he didn't get a home
I saved his life! & named him lucky. My new Cochin is named Cookie.

What kind of rooster is he ????
I am really not sure... I think he looks like an araucana...?
don't know though, just a guess... He is large, this springs, white with a black tail. He has spots on him that look like someone spilled coffee on him & his underneath feathers are black. When he fans out his wings they look like piano keys... black- white-black- white. He is pretty. I was told that he is skittish, but he seems to be quite happy & fit in right away.

Hi. Just an FYI. I believe the rooster you brought home was from me, while there may have been some joking about the stew pot, that's all it was. He is a standard Colombian Wyandotte (he is only skittish when people try to hold him). A friend of mine asked me if I could find her 2 roos a home because they were being too hard on her hens and she could not bring her self to eat them, nor can I, hence the reason I have 18+ Banty roos of my own. Lucky's RIR friend is presently free ranging with my standard hens and will remain here unless I can find him a better home. Hope you enjoy Lucky even though he was in no danger of the stew pot at my house.
