here is one with wayne in it. I can't believe the improvement in him since last week at the merrimack swap. I see the cane is gone. FANTASTIC! it's hard to believe he recently had surgery. after talking to him, greg is considering having surgery himself. thankyou Wayne

I came home to a frozen chick, laying on its side and stiff. it had escaped from mom and the nestbox. it was barely alive. thought it was a gonner but I tucked it into my sweater. I was taking inventory to go to the feed store. being a good mother hen, it went to the feed store with me under my sweater at chest hight. right around the time I was paying for my order people started to ask me if I was peeping or if the store had chicks somewhere.

by the time we returned home the baby had its eyes open and had pooped on me so I figure it felt a bit better. I put it in my brooder for the night. low and behold, it now has a giant crop and looks fine.

I hope it continues to do well as it is a blue silkie chick with a HUGE head crest.

The wife and I took a chance and went to the Vermont swap in Rutland today. You can't believe how un organized it was venders parked all over, no covers for the birds (pouring rain & cold) no buyers sheets, I will say though, the state was there testing, but not all birds old enough had been tested. After see that swap I'm glad to pay the $5.00 vender fee
