I have a friend looking to get some Marans. Please drop me a note if anyone has some they want to part with. Great home on 10 acre farm with lots of yummy food and bugs
Oh, BTW, is anyone interested in a light brahma roo, he is approximately 9 months old? He is a secondary roo here and thus is growing back his tail feathers but he is a non-agressive roo but very interested in the ladies

Did anyone see the( Sunday Union Leader) there's a great write up about chicken swaps and a photo of OLD FRATS WIFE holding here new rooster BROWNIE at the griffinbrook swap in candia
I just want to say thank you to all who are keeping the swaps alive. It is such a fun and positive thing, so very New Hampshire (the whole live free or die trying thing). As a kid, I myself was raised in a two family house next to Boston. We were not poor, but not rich either, and birds and squirrels were about the only true wildlife around, unless you count drug dealers. So I learned about birds and always wanted more of mother natures critters around.
Having summered in NH I moved here as soon as I got out of college (all the loans still not paid). Now living in NH with my own kids I am loveing seeing all the animals and chickens at the swaps and I love the kids seeing them even more. As my yard is small we dont always buy something, but it is a true cultural experience that warms my heart. This site and the swaps have allowed me to have a great variety of birds in my small chicken ark. Each week the nieghborhood kids come to play with my kids and our chickens. While they are playing they are in-turn learning that food doesn't just come from Hannafords. Perhaps they will read food labels and eat better and one day live longer, eating only what the can spell for example. I know its a lot of expectations and hopes to put on a chicken swap, but it all helps.
Growing our own food and being closer to the earth is so important to adults and children. I believe that the more we can stay connected to where we come from, the better we will live. My new dream is to get a bigger place in the country and get some nubian goats, lambs and of course more birds. Anyways I just wanted to say thanks and offer some praise.
