My Silver Laced Cochins haven't started to lay yet and I am only getting a couple of MFC eggs a week.

Did you see the pics of my new breed roo on my last auction? He is HUGE!! I am excited to see what he throws for babies. I have a blck roo and a splash roo in with more Blue and splash hens as well as some really nice blacks! Love the cochins!!

NhNanna, are your silver laced cochins bantams or LF? just curious since i'm working on a faverolles color project and my funky cockerel could produce 2 different 'silver' patterns depending on what he is crossed with. i figured he is a silver laced and crossed with a columbian (ermine in Faverolles) will produce both the columbian and the silver laced offspring!

They are Standard LF not Bantams.

woot!! good to know! it is really easy to get all the fav traits in the birds when crossed. so getting new colors into them seems to be easy! and these are 2 of the colors i was really hoping to work with!

Nope. Just shopping. Sam is really getting into the Wheatens so I think we will hold out for more of those. I have a few friends in NY who raise the Lavs. May get a few from them fro Sam to hatch...? Who knows. Hatching season is about to begin!!
