this time of year i don't buy the chick starter. too many times i've gone to get it the bags have been stored somewhere bad and there are webs and worms in them. i just crush some of the pellets i get for my adult birds and some of the cracked corn.
I will take my chances with the chicks starter....not a great idea to feed the itty bitties the big girl food....too much calcium in it. Gonna have to pick up some game bird food anyways as I am aquiring 4 burbon red turkeys tomorrow. 3 girls and a boy. I can't wait to hatch some turkeys

Ended up with 2 naked necks (they were just so cute had to post one of em twice)
and I think a couple of them are standard.....look like cochin somethings. I can't wait to see them feather out! Was pretty fun taking the pictures although the flash scares them sometimes.....One of them actually jumped up and did a back flip when it went off lol I had to pick him up and comfort him for a few minutes.
Hey folks-- does anyone have a couple of new chicks (1-3 days) that they are willing to part with? I have a broody girl that managed to sneak some eggs past me. I let her keep two, but only one survived the hatch and I'd really hate to see it grow up alone
Breed is not important. I would be willing to purchase or if you'd like trade for some 10 week old frizzles that are Ameraucana and Araucana crosses. Thanks.
Ugh. I wish I did. I actually am going through similar....hen sitting on ONE egg. I thought she was gone, but I found her. Yay. been gone about 2 weeks. So, this bugger should hatch soon, but probably not soon enough for you.
23 healthy peeping babies arrived from Ideal this morning at the crack of stupid
too bad I ordered 25
They refunded me for the missing chicks but jeez I would have rather had the pullets! So for the record you can actually ship chicks from Texas to NH in December and have then arrive safely
