Howdy. I haven't been getting any posts from the sight. Thought I better sign in. May I ask, what is a Rooster round up ? 2 of my pullets I bought @ the Meridith swap last yr turned into Roos, so I now have 6 . a few of my Hens are taking a beating( so to say )

people bring unwanted roosters. we have a rooster guy who takes them. there is a two dollar surrender fee per rooster.

Ok, does that mean the person with the Roosters pay the $2

? That was my confusion on the Rooster swap thing.
My boys are good boys, even tho I have 6 . I'll keep them , I won't pay to find them a home . If I had bad

Roos, I'd give them to whom ever would take them.

Thanks for replying

ROOSTER ROUNDUP

two dollar fee per rooster paid by the person who wants to surrender them. this is much like the fee paid to an animal shelter to surrender unwanted pets.
the roosters do not have to be npip tested as they will be surrendered in a different part of the parking lot. as soon as they are surrendered they will leave the property. this has all been approved by the department of agriculture. these roosters have to be kept seperate from all the npip birds that are for sale at the swap. this is a service provided by chicken swaps of nh to quickly rid everyone of roosters they do not want. we are sorry but much like everything else in life, services are not free.

SELLING ROOSTERS AT A SWAP

If you have roosters you do not want you may choose to sell them at a swap. The roosters need to be npip tested. they need to be wearing a npip leg band and you need to bring a copy of your npip certificate to the swap. There is an eight dollar setup fee for a spot. the fee is for the spot not the number of birds you bring. the fee is the same whether you have one bird or fifty.

the only other option you have with roosters is to advertise them yourself from your home.
I created the rooster roundup in an attempt to help people out with their rooster problems.
If I get into hassles with people over the roundup I will discontinue them.

Looking like it's going to be a beautiful 60 degree day.

Got my Australorp pullets in the mail today and even got a few extras! 27 EE pullets incoming tomorrow! Hmmmmm what shall I order for next week? I also have 21 Bourbon Red Turkeys due to hatch next week and put in 16 more eggs last night!
