Had a nice day in Walpole today but as usual, I always come home with more than I bring when we go there for some reason

The seafood platter for lunch was great also.

MeandSpoof, are you in the upper valley? I'm curious to know about this, where it is happening and who else it experiencing it. I will cross my fingers for your Ella! My two birds died very quickly, it was ~24 hours from onset of symptoms until they were gone. But I have a third bird who has been acting lethargic now since Sunday. He is eating and drinking but still standing around ruffled most of the time. I am keeping a close eye on him. Be careful with the cider vinegar, depending on the actual situation in the crop (acidic or basic) it may make matters worse.
So sorry not to have replied sooner. Trouble with kids and car. Sorry to hear tht you lost the two sick birds. :( We are in Northwood. Ella is fine now, she perked up late on Thursday and by Friday was back to her old self. She hasn't resumed laying however. Our Americauna also stopped, perhaps in solidarity with her. The ACV was the ticket in this instance. Also big THANK YOU to BYC for the font of information. I would not have known to make the hen vomit if it were not for the forum post dealing with sour crop. I also would not have guessed what Ella was dealing with if not for your post and that of puglady's. I am so grateful for the shared experience of raising chickens posted on this site. We have had chickens in the past but they were pets not layers. Love getting the warm fresh layed eggs.

Anybody want to trade a couple hens for a gorgeous 1.5 yr old muskovey male, White, with full mask of red/Orange carruncles. his buddy Got killed and something scratched his neck today. I song want him getting lonely. Im planning on going to plymouth saturday

I have a question about bantam and large fowl and what the popularity is around here for either. I am thinking of purchasing some Orpingtons but my husband and I disagree on whether to get the bantam or standard. He thinks that the bantam is a better buy. I personally prefer large fowl but did purchase my first bantam orpingtons recently but they are too young for me to get a real feel for them. I do LOVE how chunky they feel when you pick them up. Anyway what would be better for up here in New Hampshire in anyone's opinion? These are Jubilee Orpingtons I am wanting to purchase. I have a hard time as it is craigslisting my birds so would one be easier to sell than the other...my husband's concern or does it matter at all? Thanks.
