I am so glad the sugar water and warmer worked for her. I was worried and wanted to send you a message but was afraid what the answer would be... That is so great!

Yes, and thanks again for the warmer, I think it did the trick. We put her in a little box under the heater on the way home too. I was so glad to hear her start chirping. I am downloading some pictures from today in a minute so I will put them up for everyone to see what a great day it was. I was so glad to sell the pair of d'anvers. He just did not like me and crowed tooooooooooooo loud. Sold out eggs and birds. Only came home with the one rooster from yesterday. I will take him to Milford and if he doesnt sell I might just keep him for my EE girls.

Oh goodness I am so glad she made it! I was nervous bringing her up all by herself and almost put one of my other chicks in with her but we were staying in NH for the day and I didn't want to leave them in my truck all day. But I threw in a handwarmer and a little facecloth and she curled her way into the facecloth next to the warmer and chirped all the way up, I would have given you that warmer had I known, so sorry! It was really cold today and she is soooo tiny! I lost the other one I had because she got stomped

Thanks, the BYC'r next to me was kind enough to give me one and the people doing the fundraiser were nice enough to give me some sugar water to give her a jump start. I forgot to ask how old she was.

Have you cut the little plastic rings off the bottles? we had the same problem until we cut those retainer rings for the caps off.

Yes, took the rings off, but the white cup is still falling off. They told me they would screw right onto the bottle like a cap! Is thee one bottle that works better than others?

Yeah we were told they would screw on too. The other thing we did was take white zip ties, and fasten two to three around the collar where the waterer meets the bottle top. We can bring one to millford to show you if you want.

We use those on all our inside pens and at the shows. We have found the best bottle is the Volt bottles, the one that has the red volt, work the best. For the ones we take to the shows for Sarah's silkies, we use the mini coke or pepsi ones and those work good too. Some of them if they are really loose we put a couple of layers of duct tape or other waterproof tape, that seems to help, someone on here mentioned black tape.

Can you post a link to these? Sounds interesting?

Truecolorsloft, YES, if you could bring to Milford for me to see would be great!

Laura, what is Volt???

Kathy, go to Cackle Hatchery to see them, they were 13.00 for a dozen and they come with the little sprigs to hold the bottle on the cage.

I think they are great for the shows, but also at home on the cages to keep the water clean. It never fails that I put in clean water and then 5 minutes later it looks like a shaving pie mix! LOL
