Chicken Sweaters? i Need Ideas

okay people,
let me rephrase my thread...

I am ONLY asking for ideas for chicken sweaters! I did NOT ask for you guys to question me about everything and you DONT need to know how old my chickens are or how my coop is to give me ideas!!! I know that a chicken can over heat! im careful abut that! and I only use sweaters maybe 1-2 times a year. so lay off! if you don't have an idea then don't post on here please

Well your chicken sweater idea is terrible. People are trying to help you, you may be doing more harm than good by giving them sweaters. The more volume their feathers take up the warmer they will be, if you compress their feathers they will be colder. Chickens are not people so do the right thing and fix your inadequate coop.

I know what to do with chickens , okay? Ive had them since I was 4. I understand people are trying to help me, and I did not ask for your opinion either about the sweaters. @barnaclebob

Wow. Sorry for trying to help. I believe I did indeed address the sweater issue. The reason some of us wanted to know the age of the birds is because, obviously, very young birds have different heat requirements and how well your coop protects your birds from the elements makes a difference too. Lots of people here deal with similar issues or questions so there are always folks with good ideas willing to help. Sorry we have offended you with those attempts, I'll not comment further on your thread.

I think the OP just wants to put sweaters on chickens and this doesn't have much to do with protecting them from the elements....or she would have just done that in her cooping situation instead of insisting on putting sweaters on birds. Sort of like those folks that like to dress up little dogs.

That issue might have been better posted to a social part of the forum, as this one is about managing your flock and by no means is putting little sweaters on chickens for warmth falling under anyone's idea of "management". That falls under "fashion".

You had some very nice and experienced people try to help you keep your flock more warm in these temps.

No it's not "just want to put sweaters on them" i cant easily fix the coop to where its not drafty. Excuse me if i dont have the time and money to fix it. I know tarps can be cheap but i own horses andthey take up most of my money. Sorry that i dont have the money.
