A while ago I kept my Rooster, Mr. Burby in the house for a medical condition. He was usually okay around food, but you could never tell. Once when DM was eating a sandwich while sitting on the couch, Burby hopped onto the footstool and proceeded to stare intently at her sandwich for a minute or two. Finally, when DM turned away for a split second, he made his move and swiped the meat portion, leaving only the veggie part. We swear it was like he planned the whole thing!
this is a great story. i love when chickens run around with things in their mouth as if they have struck gold. one time one of my little peeps was running around with her feather.. haha.. she was running from the others as if it was some big prize.. i'm like oh my gosh you doofus!!
i'm wondering- do you have a fenced in yard? i would like to let my chickens run around my yard.. but i'm worried they'll go away!!
