Okay, I know that chickens don't vomit like we do, but that's the only way I can describe it. She looks like she has the dry heaves (arching her neck and thrusting forward) and every once in a while some "stuff" comes out. Her crop is very big, but soft and squishy. I did a search for sour crop but am not sure if that is what is happening. She has been like this for two days. She is slightly lethargic and keeps going over to her food, but not eating. This morning she had projectile runny poop. I watched her for 45 minutes this afternoon, but she didn't poop during that time. I don't know what to do. I treated her last year for impacted crop, but this is very different. Please help!

You need to provide more information.
What are you feeding them besides free range?
What is the temp like where you live?
Have you given her boiled egg? Or yogurt?
Do you have electrolytes and vitamins in her water?
Have you checked inside her mouth for anything caught?
Have you tried dribbling water on the end of her beak to see if she will drink?
Have you checked for mites? They are very tiny so a very close inspection is needed.
What color is her comb?
She also might be trying to get something unstuck from her throat, so check her for that.
Thanks.

Hi,
All three are on layer pellets, only one is having issues.
The weather here has been rainy and 60s all month. today is our first sunny and 70 degree day in a while.
I just separated her from the other chickens this morning and have not given her anything to eat yet.
I tried doing a baking soda and water flush but felt like everything was going to her lungs because she started gurgling and her comb started turning blue.
I am going to get some sulmet now, I will also see if they have vitamins for her water.
I had her beak open pretty far when I was trying the soda/water flush and there did not seem to be an obstruction.
Her comb is back to normal red now.
I called a vet who was no help. He said to try her on "sour crop meds" but couldn't give me any specifics as to what that would be. the feed store recommended sulmet. I can't get her in to the vet until Monday. I'm afraid she will deteriorate this weekend.
Right now she was water with ACV. I will check her for mites.
Thanks for your help. I'm very sad and frustrated!

Don't get discouraged.
How is she doing this morning?
Try giving her some boiled eggs. And plain yogurt as well.
Is there any smell coming from her mouth?
How old is she?
What breed is she?
Is she laying yet? And have you started giving her oyster shell?
I will check back on here in a little while but I have to go right now.
Keep up the good work!!
