Cool! I never even thought of giving our chickens pumpkin! They're cute, and they look friendly.

I used to hate carving up the pumpkins at halloween because they would fill up the compost bin so rapidly. Then I started dumping off the pumpkins to the chickens who DEVOURED them. Now, I don't mind carving up two or three pumpkins because they eat everything, even the seeds.

How fun. I gave my girls a small pumpkin this morning and my mama hen kept picking up the seeds and dropping them for the babies. But the seeds were HUGE. The babies ran over an looked around, like, where's the food? We can't possibly eat these huge seeds?
