Chicken Toys - Shiny Things?

I'd like to try the laser pointers. Thanks for the fun idea!

I will do same with a trained rooster this evening. I will have rooster walking on floor, aim pointer at some spot, then toss a mealworm on spot. This be repeated with distance rooster has to walk increased over time. Eventually rooster will be expected jump up on something.

I tried out the cat toy on the chickens this afternoon. They were not impressed with it. :>)

Playing tag with them, you have to have food on you otherwise they don't want to play

My pet rooster used to love to play tag with me, even without any food on me, but now that he's big I'm afraid to play this with him, for fear he might get confused and charge me. :>) How he loved to run and chase me, with his head down, full of glee and fun! I miss those days.

i took a small hamster ball(the kind that they go into and run around in it and it rolls on the floor) drilled holes just large enough for scratch to fall through.
I fill the ball and place it in the run. The more they move the ball the more feed falls out of it. usually takes an hour or two before it is empty.
It funny to watch them chase it,,,,

I've done the same thing with a plastic white ball. Drill small holes all over. Fill with sunflower seeds. Make sure you make a big hole for filling and seal with duct tape. Only the intelligent chickens will figure how to roll it around so the seeds will fall out.

Warning: Squirrels will steal it.
