Chicken Tractor at the Ranch

I am excited too! I have finished the coop. I decided to make it a bit bigger and build a separate tractor that I can use later. For now I need them comfy and having a good time.

They just got into their mansion today. They don't seem to understand the watering system yet, I don't know if they've touched their food, and they aren't sleeping on the roosting bar.

How long does it usually take for new hens to get used to their surroundings?

It takes a bit of time. How are they now?

My wife is at home today and she says the coop is sitting in a good shade and they aren't panting. Last night I couldn't get them to stay on the roost. They don't seem to peck at their food much, but I also don't know how much they eat. They pecked at a little bit of watermelon I gave them this morning. I hope they're okay.

Sounds like a solid plan. How often do you plan on moving your tractor? Is your main reason for birds eggs or meat?

Also, welcome to the forum!
Honestly, I got them as pets. I think chickens are super cute. I don't really eat eggs, but my family does. will move the tractor once every other day, I think. I don't want them to peck up my lawn, but I do want them to get what they can out of a section.
